Problems When Playing Via Mobile Internet

Possible Issues

The main problems that you may face when playing via mobile Internet or 3G/4G modem:

  • Vehicles fall under the textures.
  • Delays in navigation and shooting.
  • Vehicles pass through objects.
  • Vehicles "float".
  • Shells fly through vehicles.
  • Long synchronization.
  • Long loading to battle.
  • Authorization issues.

How Can I Check the Connection Quality?

To check the connection quality in the game client, take a look at the latency indicator in battle (upper left corner of the screen).

Latency is the time it takes your PC to respond to a request. In other words, it's the time period it takes a packet sent from your computer to get to another computer in the network and return back.

  • 0–150 ms is acceptable latency for the game.
  • 150–300 ms latency can cause issues during the game.
  • More than 300 ms is a critical latency value that is not recommended for playing.

Causes of Problems

The speed of mobile Internet can be quite high (up to 1 Gbit/s). However, due to the working specifications of base stations that ensure operation of mobile Internet and 3G/4G modems, this connection can be unstable.

For this reason, when playing, the ping value can reach 1000–2000 ms, which is much higher than the optimal value, and network packets can also be lost (lagging). That is why, despite the possible high speed of mobile Internet, this is not the best option for dynamic online games such as World of Tanks.

World of Tanks requires the following connection speed:

  • Minimum: 256 Kbps.
  • Optimal: 1024 Kbps or higher.
