Crew Skills and Proficiency

In the Personal file of each crew member, you can learn skills that allow you to boost their performance in battle.

All skills are divided into two groups: universal and special pilot skills. Universal ones work automatically and do not require any action from the player; specials are activated only under certain conditions.

All rear gunner skills are universal; pilot skills can be both universal and special. Each skill costs a certain number of skill points to master. The more points a skill is worth, the greater its effect. All skills will provide maximum efficiency immediately after they are obtained.

XP Required for Skill Points

After gaining 100% proficiency, the crew gains access to additional skills and earns one skill point. After that, you can earn skill points by accumulating XP in battles. Every single following skill requires much more experience.

The maximum number of skill points available to one pilot is 15, the maximum number of skills — 8.

Pilot Skills

Universal skills (available only at 100% proficiency)

Fire Resistance 1 Decreases damage taken from fires and shortens the maximum fire duration by 10%.
Eagle-Eyed 1 Increases the range at which enemy aircraft are detected by 20%.
Aerobatics Expert 2 Increases maneuverability in all axes by 2%.
Battle Tested 2 Reduces the chance of injury to the pilot by 20%. Improves aircraft handling by 25% when the aircraft’s wings, tail, and fuselage are critically damaged.
Marksman I 2 Reduces the dispersion of forward-firing weapons by 5%.
Marksman II 3 Reduces the dispersion of forward-firing weapons by 5% and increases the accuracy of firing at actively maneuvering targets by 10%. The effect is cumulative with the effect of the “Marksman I” skill.
Engine Guru I 2 Increases engine thrust by 3%. Significantly improves aircraft acceleration.
Engine Guru II 3 Better affects both the acceleration rate and boost effectiveness. Increases engine thrust and top speed by 2%. The effect is cumulative with the effect of the “Engine Guru I” skill.
Expert Rocketeer 2 Increases the chance of directly hitting an aircraft with rockets by 20%.
Demolition Expert 2 Increases the damage caused by bombs and rockets and their blast radius by 15%.
Aerodynamics Expert 3 Increases the positive effect of the mounted equipment on aircraft maneuverability and speed by 20%: aircraft polish (improved polish), polish covering, lightweight airframe, improved flaps, control surface adjustment.
Protection Expert 3 Increases the positive effect of the mounted equipment on aircraft durability and resistance to critical damage by 20%: improved covering, reinforced airframe, additional armored plates, concealing livery.


Special Pilot Skills (available only at 100% proficiency)

Fire Fighter 2 Extinguishes fire by active maneuvering. Gain and maintain a high angular velocity in any axis to extinguish a fire.
Cruise Flight 3 Increases the view range by 20% and engine thrust and top speed by 3% when the aircraft does not receive damage for 20 seconds. The effect is cumulative with the Engine Guru and Eagle-Eyed skills. The effect is lost once the aircraft hits an enemy target or receives damage.
Resilience 3 Repairs all critical damage and heals all crew injuries, reduces engine and weapon overheating by 50%, and increases maneuverability and engine thrust by 5% when the aircraft loses 70% of its hit points. The skill is activated automatically once per sortie.
Evasive Target 4 Reduces the damage received and chance of receiving critical damage and pilot injuries by 25% when actively maneuvering. Gain and maintain a high angular velocity in the pitch and roll axes to activate the skill.
Raptor Strike 4 Increases the chance of setting an enemy aircraft on fire and causing critical damage by 50% when diving and attacking with forward-firing weapons. Takes effect when the aircraft’s speed approaches maximum dive speed and the pitch angle exceeds 45 degrees.
Adrenaline Rush 4 Reduces weapon overheating by 25% and increases firing accuracy by 10% after destroying an enemy aircraft. Effective for 10 seconds. Stacks with Marksman II.

 

Rear Gunner Skills

Universal skills (available only at 100% proficiency)

Endurance 1 Reduces injury of the gunner by 20% (a critically wounded gunner stops firing).
Vigilance 1 Increases the rear view range by 20%.
Armorer 2 Increases the burst length of a turret by 20%.
Defensive Fire 3 Reduces the damage from an aircraft that the gunner is firing at.
Ballistics Expert 3 Increases the range of a turret by 15%. Improves the Turret stabilizer equipment’s effect by 20%.
Quick Reflexes 3 Turret aiming time is reduced by 50%.
Precision Gunner 3 The rear gunner has a (significantly) greater chance of scoring critical hits on enemy aircraft by targeting vulnerable areas.
Weakest Link 5 The rear gunner automatically starts shooting at the target with the least HP.
