Possible problems that can occur when playing with the mobile Internet

Can I play World of Warships using a mobile router or tethering?

If you play World of Warships using a mobile router or a 3G/4G/5G line (hereinafter referred to as a mobile line), the following problems may occur.

  • Delayed operation of warships and artillery attacks
  • Warships stuck in the terrain of the map
  • Delay in synchronization when logging in or starting a battle
  • Login failed

This problem is caused by the characteristics of the mobile line.
Mobile lines are accessible at any location, but the problem might occur due to the unstable quality of connection.

How to check the connection quality

You can check the network connection quality through Ping:xx ms displayed on the upper left corner of the screen when in the battle.

Ping: xx ms represents the response speed of communication sent from the game client to the server.
The response speed is the time until the game client data is sent to the server and the result is sent back to the game client.

The Ping value is denoted as ms (1/1000 seconds).
You can see if you can play the game comfortably through the Ping value.

  • 1 - 150 ms. - It's an acceptable range. It doesn't affect the game performance.
  • 150 - 300 ms - It's not ideal. The game performance may be disrupted by its quality
  • More than 300 ms - It's hard to play the game smoothly
  • Ping value is not displayed - Gameplay cannot be played due to poor internet connection.

What is the cause of the problem?

Recently, the mobile network speed is very fast, but due to its characteristics, the quality of the network is not guaranteed.
Internet/network quality refers to how stably data is transmitted.
Playing battles using mobile lines can sometimes cause packet loss (lags) that hinders data transmission, such as Ping being more than 1,000 ms (in situations where you can't play properly).
The quality of mobile lines depends on the surrounding environment such as walls, people, buildings, and weather.
Therefore, it is not recommended to use mobile lines in online games that always require a stable network connection.

Even if you use optical cables, the same problem can occur if you use Wi-Fi at home.
If a problem occurs when using Wi-Fi, connect it by wire to see the problem improvement.

The World of Warships' operating environment must meet the below condition.

  • More than 1 Mbps
